Title: Piper in the sand

Author: John O'Brien

Today I read about Dougal

I feel happy about what I read today because they got the piper and they heard beautiful sounds

My favourite character was Dougal because he was listening to a sound that was under the sand

I would feel happy if the same thing that happened to my character, happened to me because I will show my parents the piper and try playing it .

I think if the author decided to write another part to this story this is what will happen Dougal plays the piper and see if he could play

Maths reflection

So today I my group and I did a pattern which was black, white, white and black.
Here is the image of our pattern.

My holiday recount!

Holiday Recount

At the holidays, my family and I went to my sister's netball game. My sister was a goal defence. She was really good at defending her partner.

After that we went to the shops to buy us meat for dinner which was spaghetti meatballs.Later on we went out west to sign the form for my cousin who is coming to New Zealand. Meanwhile we went to Auckland city to celebrate my mum's birthday. We went to the park to play around and take photo's for my mum. Then my parents took us to McDonald to buy us Sundae Ice-cream and it was really delicious.  So we went back home and went back to sleep.

I felt really happy because it was my mum's birthday and I got to go to my sister's netball game.

Maths Reflection

Maths Reflection

Well you know that today I will be telling you guys what I did in Maths today.
So we had to have black and white paper and we had to cut it in squares 8 x 8.
It has to be rotational and reflective. You have to do it different patterns because Mum
doesn't like doing a boring black and white like a chest board. I did 2 blacks and 2 whites and
I had a little problem. The problem was that I did it black, white, black and white. If I turn it it is still the
same, but if I reflect it it is not the same. So I had a great idea and my idea was that if I swap the black in the outside and the white in the inside and if I fold it will be reflective.

I hope you learnt something new about REFLECTIVE and ROTATIONAL!

Ceremony: Maria Tuaia

Ceremony: Maria Tuaia

Image result for maria tutaiaI think Maria Tuaia is a good choice to be invited to the opening ceremony because she is in a famous netball team called the SILVER FERNS. She can play at goal attack or goal shooter. Maria played with the magic for two years. She was called in the silver ferns teams, making on her on-court debut when the ferns toured Jamaica. She has won lots of medals.

Netball

Netball was first played in England in 1895. In 1995, netball became a recognised Olympic sport.

Sport: Netball

Rule 1: You cannot run with the ball. You can only bounce the ball to your teammate once.

Rule 2: If the ball is knocked out of your hands and you make an attempt to try and get it back, you can only bounce the ball once to get it. If you bounce more than once, then it is called "replay ball".

Aim: Remember to always look before passing the ball. If you're not careful with your passes then there could be a slight chance of your opponents team winning.
