Science experiments
In week 10 Term 2 of 2015 at Glenbrae primary school we had Science week. The senior students did the science experiments on physical and chemical changes of matter. We the students of Room 7 went to 3 different classrooms so we can get really interesting information for our learning on the Science experiments.
On Monday we had science with Mrs Raj. We were learning about the water cycle and the 3 states of matter are solid, liquid and gas. Mrs Raj had some equipments and materials like 2 cups and brown coffee. The room 7 students saw droplets of water in the cup and the steam was coming up out of the cup.
The next day room 7 students were with Mrs Parker making bread and butter. We had to bake the 1st bread, so the bread was so small and wide.Mrs Parker risen the small bread in the sun, so we came back and then Mrs Card took the small amazing bread with the long flat second bread to be risen.Afterwards we checked if it was ready or not so we took the first bread to the oven and left the second bread to be risen again.Later on Mrs Parker checked again for the second bread if it is risen and so we put it in the oven with the first bread.Mrs Parker came with cream and four jars to make butter. We put cream inside the four jar and we shake the four jars and it became buttery.Mrs Card and Mrs Parker cut the two bread up and butter the bread and then we tasted it and we voted, but the best bread was the second bread, it was crunchy.
On Wednesday the room 7 students went to Mrs Tofa's class. We were making croissant.Mrs Tofa had four kinds of bottle and it was L & P, sprite, vinegar and water and we had apples for our activity. We dip it in sprite, vinegar, L & P and water.Mrs Tofa told us to put it somewhere dark, outside in the sun or putting it in shady place so it won’t be rotten. The winner was vinegar because it can hold it really long in the sun. Afterwards we went back on our croissant and we had ingredients and it was flour and dough with the equipments and it was baking paper. We put it in the oven for 15 minutes each.Later on the room 7 students ate the croissant and it was a bit yucky but we tried our best making croissant.
On Thursday the Glenbrae students went to room 8 for the lemon experiment. We done some cool activities and doing some ugly faces with Mr Nath in room 9.It was pretty cool and we had a lot of fun.
I felt happy because we get to learn about science and get to go to each classes for our experiments. The room 7 students were being respectful to others and supporting there teams.
